Research projects for Ph.D. students who want to join my team in the Department of Physics, San Diego State University (San Diego) will require the student to have their own scholarship funding at this time. The Joint Doctoral Program in Computational Science (JDP) is offered by San Diego State University (SDSU) and the University of California Irvine (UCI) and is administered by the Computational Science Research Center at SDSU and the Graduate Division at UCI.
Preferred qualification:
1. M.S. degree in Physics/Medical Physics with strong computational background, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering. Exceptional candidates with B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering are encouraged to apply.
2. Skilled in programming and software development, especially C/C++ and Matlab.
3. TOEFL and GRE (only general) scores meeting graduate school admission requirement.
Deadline: February. However, early application is strongly recommended (preferably Oct., Nov. and Dec.) due to competitive applications.
